24 Hour Fitness

I just moved to the 24-Hour in Lakewood, CO. Overall, it's pretty poorly cared for. 3 of the 11 TVs are broken and have been for a good 2 months. It wouldn't be such a huge deal except that everyone wants to watch TV when they workout, so although the cardio machines are spaced out, everyone huddles together to look at the one TV that works. There are also only 15 treadmills, 8 of which don't have TV controllers, and 10 of which don't have fans that work. I actually saw a woman bring her own fan and plug it into the powerstrip. The machines are always broken, and have no hope of being fixed. Instead of opening up newer and more expensive gyms, they should focus on maintaining the locations they have.

The San Jose Super Sport location is very nice all around. However, the Active Location at McKee Road in San Jose is a complete hell hole - I've seen prison gyms that are cleaner/better equipped.

one of the managers there is a bitch and just confiscated my membership because i dont have an id
its fricken summer, imma high school sophmore
i dont keep my school ids
i prefer LA FITNESS its waaaayyyyy better and cleaner and nicer with a nicer staff
and alot of the equipment at 24 is outdated and their elliptical and cardio machines are broken and have been broken for a while
it doesnt look like they're looking foward to fixing them anytime soon
also if u wanna bench or squat or anything, have fun trying to find the 2 1/2s 5lbs 10lbs and 25 lbs. theyre never put back on the rack which makes it almost impossible to find
another thing is u cant access the medicine balls and balance boards because they are only meant for the 24 hr fitness trainers in the "only 24 hr staff members" room
in la fitness, medicine balls are accessible to anyone and all of the weights there are easy to find
dont join this club, join the ymca or la fitness way cleaner and nicer

24 hour fitness is having issues right now.. they are changing OWNERS.. from what I hear.. look out!
also they are sly and tricky with memberships and what they say to get someone to join. TRUST ME ON THIS "I USED TO WORK FOR THEM" and heard lots of BS to get people to sign up...
now that I do not work for them I am back to my contract when it was Family Fitness (before they became 24 hour fitness) ... I have ALL ACTIVE club membership, the ISSUE at hand is they are letting all the active clubs run down, or closing them, and forcing us to UPGRADE to like min of $120. per year.. when I ONLY PAY $40.0 a year now!!! I did pay $400. upfront when I joined years ago, didn't have to pay dues till 3 years and now only $40.0 per year and NOW they are closing all the Active gyms and making them in to SPORT CLUBS and not letting us in!!!
THIS IS NOT RIGHT .. I have talked with some Law offices and they say they have been hearing this once to twice a week now from upset people and maybe in time doing a class action suit on them...
LOOK OUT IF YOU JOIN THIS CLUB .. they are going down hill, the Corp. Office is changing, laying off the long time Service Managers and bringing in new ones that don't keep the gyms in tip top shape and then TELL YOU TO UPGRADE!...
what type of place is this turned into ..
Talking about San Diego CA Area...
LOOK OUT its on the CRASH ..... if you can buy something for home and workout there.. maybe not as good but you won't be ripped off in years down the road

The elusive 24 Hour Fttness memership services in coordination with its offshore billing department have created a deception in what they are providing. It appears more profitable for this corporaion to close lifetime accounts by deleting the renewal fee of attempted payments from record hence deleting the account membership. This action forces the cancelled member to purchase a new account at an inceased rate.
Attempts to settle any dispute or disclose their "error" online, phone or with a club manager are in vain. Their Website will not allow entry previous to the deletion as they state they have changed requirments for access. And all other attempts are stated that no procedure can arrange a dispute because the membership has been deactivated. Resolution has no central authority and is been disolved to the disconnected position of club managers.
If you experienced this - give the decieved notice.

If you wanna cancel the service, you will never end CALL them back and forth, unless you got your refund check on hand! i called them every months for just CANCEL THE PACKAGE! n keep charing on my account !

Why is it not open 24 hours a day?

I love the Millbrae, CA locaton. The kids at the front desk are very friendly, always smiiling and know all the members by a first-name basis. It's clean, not too loud, great towel service and the machines are always in working order.

The trainers also are very nice, friendly and very patient with their clients. My trainer, RALPH BROOKS is wonderful and my biggest cheerleader no matter how much I complain! i am seeing results!!!!!!

The improvements are: TURN UP THE AIR CONDITIONER, MORNING AND NIGHT and upgrade some of your cardio machines.
