- "KIDS ON THE GO" -- Some of life’s earliest memorable experiences involve the play of sports. Whether it’s crossing the finish line last, or heaving up a last-second winning shot, sport impacts kids in a unique way. Many special-needs children cannot relish their own sports experiences because insufficient mobility equipment keeps them sidelined.
With the advent of many new sports mobility technologies, access is becoming available to more and more children. Variety’s goal is to see that they get it. The "Kids on the Go" Program is part of a national Variety mobility effort to provide support for children and their families in the form of durable medical equipment (such as basketball wheelchairs) that they cannot afford or, for whatever reason, is denied by their health insurance. By helping special needs kids gain the proper mobility, Variety gives them the opportunity to be active on and off the field!
GOLD HEART PIN DRIVE -- The signature fundraising initiative that takes place annually when specially-made gold heart pins are sold at movie theatres and worn by millions of people around the world as symbols of their support for Variety.
VARIETY AT PLAY -- Puts smiles on the faces of children and volunteers throughout the world of Variety by giving them a chance to spend time with each other at fun-filled events and outings.
