AMERICAN ACADEMY OF BILLIARD AND CUE SPORTSさん The Billiard Education Foundation (BEF) is offering college scholarship monies to High school seniors who benefited from the sport of billiards and are pursuing a college education. Applications due April 1, 2010 and can be downloaded from the BEF website. Help support the BEF and spread the word.

AMERICAN ACADEMY OF BILLIARD AND CUE SPORTSさん The Spring 9-ball session of our APA youth league will begin on Sunday January 24th at the Billiards Café in Ayer Ma. All players ages 8 - 18 are welcome. The league meets every Sunday from 3:00pm to approximately 5:30 pm. APA junior membership is required. The cost is $15 per year. There is a weekly match fee of $6. $...4 goes to the APA and $2 goes to the hall. No previous playing experience is necessary. Instruction is provided to league players by BCA accredited instructors at no cost. Players will be given an opportunity to qualify for the BCA Junior Nationals in July. Are you tired of giving up a ball in hand to your opponent? This workshop is a must for those who want to take their game to the next level. We will primarily focus on two and three rail diamond and parallel shift systems. It is expected that each students will acquire the practical skills necessar...y to successfully execute these shots as well as a real understanding of the workings of the diamond system. Depending on available time and class makeup, we may also delve into four and five rail diamond systems or ½ table diamond systems.
Players taking this class should have a consistent stroke as well as some knowledge of one rail bank and kicking systems. Components and extensions of one rail systems, as well as variables affecting rebound angles, will be reviewed.
Written class materials are provided. Cost of class is $125.00

Billiard Congress of America Advanced Instructors Walter Zincavage and Roy Pastor will prepare you to become a BCA Recognized Instructor. This course includes information about publicizing your services, how to work with a room and league operators, how to develop lesson plans, how to conduct private lessons and classe...s. Completion of a two day Players Class is a prerequisite for the Recognized Instructor class. This three-day course is for those who desire to teach pool and want to achieve the distinction of becoming accredited as a BCA Instructor.
Instructor upgrades to the BCA Certified and Advanced levels are also available through this class. Upgrade courses are based on the candidate’s prior training and previous BCA certification.

Everyone was given a video stroke analysis and an individual practice plan to maximize improvement. A new class schedule will be posted over the next week or so. Gift certificates are available for the holidays.

On Oct. 30th, To present a team trick shot exhibition, straight from the Mohegan Sun Casino and the World Trick Shot Championships. All 4 champions will do trick shots, take on challeng...es, answer questions and sign autographs. Sponsored by APA-Northeastern Mass and the Claddagh Pub, the show is free to the public.
