Everyone had a great time at the BEF Junior Billiard Nationals hosted by the Illinois State University. All of our Billiard Café players represented themselves, their families and their communities well. Kevin Sun took first place in the Artistic Pool competition run by Tom Rossman (Dr. Cue) and 9th overall in the 14... and under boys division. Tashanna Clarke-Phelan made a terrific debut in the 15-19 girls division capturing 9th place. Nate Warren and Brandt Davies displayed courage, character and superior sportsmanship in the 15-19 boys division in both their wins and losses.
Franky Richard, Jimmy Cremens and Mark Sama all played with maturity and battled each game and each match. Another very strong first showing was had by Jake Alpert who just celebrated his 10th birthday. Jake wielded his new jump cue like a weapon, carefully reading the table and playing strong against much more experienced players.
All of our Junior players made great friendships and had a great experience. We are already planning practice sessions for next year. Roy Pastor.
