Peter Brownさん Put the poxy place on the old guildenburgh site, on bus route, no railway to cross, roundabout on guildy corner{only 3 way traffic on it} job done, blow somerfield up and put a brothel on the site, (5 bob an hour) put the cop shop down the bottom of the saxon brick pit and replace their motor's with post office bicycle...'s, give crocket the freedom of the town and the rest is laa dee dar.

Whittlesey Supermarket Planningさん Just been told, Government have decided to withdraw the Article 14 direction and as such the application will return to local planning committee for a decision.

Sadie Underwoodさん So is this true what i hear from a reliable source that Sainsburys have defo got the go ahead at Station road

Sadie Underwoodさん not sure if its true but have heard on the jungle drums of whittlesey peeps that Morrisons are building a store at stanground nr the by pass ???

John Hubbardさん Maybe Tesco have had a bit of an advanced warning of a plan to extend the new by-pass from Stanground, past Whittlesey through to the March road. (Just a cynical thought)

Arron Surridge-Taylorさん Thank god, we need a supermarket in Whittlesey!!!

Cathy Readさん This is an interesting page! I found it via Alex Phipps (hello!!). I live on Station Road and am in two minds about the whole thing. Selfishly I would love a Tesco just down the road, but my main concern would be the manual level crossing. My daughters go to Alphabet nursery and we already often have a greater than 5 m...inute wait at the crossing. I think the crossing is the main downfall for the proposed site, and that the traffic down Station Road would back up at peak periods maybe as far as Inhams Lane. I would be interested to know if a study has been done on this?

Whittlesey Supermarket Planningさん Just to clarify, a lot of people seem to be getting confused about this site and what it was set up for, and to confirm that this site was set up by a group of residents and business owners of Whittlesey to be an information page on the Station Road application and that it is not connected, set up or run by the develop...er. P.S. there is still no further info to report regarding the situation with GoEast.

Emma Jamie Boardmanさん I lived down Station road until recently, putting up with the lorries and traffic is something that you have to accept if you live on the only road to a towns industrial estate, wouldn't you prefer to have a supermarket with landscaping and light traffic than more factories and HGV's, can you remember what it was like ...when the tarmac plant was working, lorries in and out all day starting from 6am, I know which I prefer!

Tavi Lawleyさん Hey, did you all see the PET yesterday, really good article "Plenty of support for out-of-town proposal"

Leann Boscariniさん I am really shocked at the negative comments of the people in Whittlesey!! No one has been bothered in years to get a good supermarket in Whittlesey now someone has everyone is still moaning!!! Perhaps if the people that are moaning would do something constructive other than moan we would have had a supermarket along time ago!!

Andrew Fordhamさん
Its the people in Whittlesey without transport I feel sorry for. Their need for a supermarket has been met with the most stupid location in the UK. Where else do you have to go over a MANNED level crossing to get to a supermarket. Its so far out of town its closer to Benwick. The only person to gain from this stupi...d location is Mr Sears the developer who will wave, from his private plane, at all the traffic queuing at the level crossing. thats the people with cars. Those without are no further forward. Lets hope the secretary of State knocks this stupid idea on the head as obviously Fenland Councillors dont know what they are doing.
wake up whittlesey, you have been sold a dog

Alexandria Phippsさん Please every one do this NOW we are running out of time, please don’t be dictated to, I phoned Fenland and was told the decision on Benwick Road supermarket planning is not a referendum, i.e.. The Whittlesey people are not entitled to an opinion or a vote, we need to support our Whittlesey Councillors, our Whittlesey M...ayor, our Whittlesey Business forum, and most important, we need to support each other. We need to say what we want, we must not let the 3 planning officers at Fenland, who do not live in Whittlesey, say what we can and can’t have THIS IS OUR TOWN and we need to write the letter today!!

Kevin Bakerさん bring any supermarket on and watch sommerfield go out of business the rip off mother f**kers!!!!!!!
